For people who read later with Readwise Reader
Moving from Readwise Reader? Bring your saved articles to KeepFinding
Reader lets you download your whole library as a CSV file. Bring it here and KeepFinding reads it as it is: what you had not read yet and what you archived keep their place, with your tags, ready to search, sort into lists and come back to.
What comes across
Every link, title and date
Each document you saved becomes a saved link with the title Reader had for it and the date you saved it.
Archive stays archived
Documents in your Archive arrive archived. What was in Inbox or Later joins your library, ready to read.
Your tags come along
Reader tags become topics on each link, and the lists you describe match against them. The RSS items Reader adds to your Feed by itself stay out.
Covers and summaries
KeepFinding reads each page for its cover and a short summary. A page that is gone keeps its title and link.
Get the file from Reader
In Reader, open your account profile page and, under Export account data, choose Export Library as CSV. Or search the command palette for Generate CSV export. The file lists every document with its title, tags, location and the date you saved it.
The CSV holds your documents, not your highlights; Reader exports those separately as Markdown. Uploaded files with no web link, and the items in your Feed, are skipped.
A file can hold up to 5 MB and 5,000 links. An account keeps up to 3,000 links, archive included, and a trial library without an account keeps 80. Links already in your library are skipped, so importing the same file twice adds nothing.
Import it
New to KeepFinding
Choose Import your Reader export on this page and create your account.
On the welcome screen, next to Or a whole bookmarks file, choose your Reader .csv. The links go in straight away.
Pick a few topics you want more of, or choose Skip for now. For covers, open Settings and, under Your data, choose Fill them in.
Already using KeepFinding
Choose Import your Reader export on this page, which opens Settings for you. In the app, Settings is at the foot of the side menu (Menu, top left, opens it) and, signed in, in your account menu at the top right.
Under Your data, choose your Reader .csv. KeepFinding shows what it found, such as "1,240 links · read as Readwise Reader export", before anything is added.
Choose the Import button. KeepFinding then reads each page for its cover. You can close Settings part-way; what is left is offered again next time.
Try it first, without an account
Save any link on Home and KeepFinding starts a trial library in this browser. Settings then shows Your data, which takes your Reader file up to 80 links. Create your account later and the trial library comes with you.
What you get here
Lists you describe. Write what a list should hold, like "podcasts under 20 minutes" or "youtube videos i never opened". It becomes a row on Home with a page of its own, and the assistant handles the prompts a rule cannot.
Suggestions from what you keep. Name topics you want more of and KeepFinding suggests links for them next to your own, marked Suggested for you.
A reader that remembers. Articles open in a reader where you can highlight passages, and KeepFinding remembers where you stopped.
Save from anywhere. The Save to KeepFinding extension for Chrome saves the page you are on, a link or the links in a selection. KeepFinding also installs as an app from your browser, and on Android it then appears in the share sheet.
Coming from somewhere else?
The same import reads Pocket CSV exports, Raindrop.io exports, Instapaper exports, Omnivore exports, bookmarks exported from Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge (.html), any CSV with a column of links, and a plain list of links.
Keeping Reader as well? Export again later and import the new file: links you already have are skipped, so only the new ones are added.
