KeepFinding

For people who keep their links in Raindrop.io

Moving from Raindrop.io? Bring your bookmarks to KeepFinding

Raindrop.io lets you download your bookmarks whenever you like. Bring the CSV here and KeepFinding reads it as it is: your collections, tags, notes and favorites come with the links, ready to search, sort into lists and come back to.

What comes across

Get the file from Raindrop

Everything: in the Raindrop.io web app, open Settings, then Backups, and choose Create new. Raindrop emails you when the backup is ready; download its CSV file from the same page.

One collection: open the collection, choose Export and pick CSV.

Raindrop does export and backup in its web app, so on a phone, open app.raindrop.io in the browser. Its backup leaves out files you uploaded, such as PDFs and images, and highlights do not come across.

A file can hold up to 5 MB and 5,000 links. An account keeps up to 3,000 links, archive included, and a trial library without an account keeps 80. Links already in your library are skipped, so importing the same file twice adds nothing.

Import it

New to KeepFinding

  1. Choose Import your Raindrop export on this page and create your account.

  2. On the welcome screen, next to Or a whole bookmarks file, choose your Raindrop .csv. The links go in straight away, and your collections become lists.

  3. Pick a few topics you want more of, or choose Skip for now. For covers, open Settings and, under Your data, choose Fill them in.

Already using KeepFinding

  1. Choose Import your Raindrop export on this page, which opens Settings for you. In the app, Settings is at the foot of the side menu (Menu, top left, opens it) and, signed in, in your account menu at the top right.

  2. Under Your data, choose your Raindrop .csv. KeepFinding shows what it found, such as "1,240 links · read as Raindrop export", before anything is added.

  3. Leave Make a list for each folder ticked to turn collections into lists, then choose the Import button. KeepFinding then reads each page for its cover. You can close Settings part-way; what is left is offered again next time.

Try it first, without an account

Save any link on Home and KeepFinding starts a trial library in this browser. Settings then shows Your data, which takes your Raindrop file up to 80 links. Create your account later and the trial library comes with you.

What you get here

Lists you describe. Write what a list should hold, like "podcasts under 20 minutes" or "youtube videos i never opened". It becomes a row on Home with a page of its own, and the assistant handles the prompts a rule cannot.

Suggestions from what you keep. Name topics you want more of and KeepFinding suggests links for them next to your own, marked Suggested for you.

A reader that remembers. Articles open in a reader where you can highlight passages, and KeepFinding remembers where you stopped.

Save from anywhere. The Save to KeepFinding extension for Chrome saves the page you are on, a link or the links in a selection. KeepFinding also installs as an app from your browser, and on Android it then appears in the share sheet.

Coming from somewhere else?

The same import reads Pocket CSV exports, bookmarks exported from Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge (.html), any CSV with a column of links, and a plain list of links. Browser bookmark folders can each become a list.

Keeping Raindrop as well? Export again later and import the new file: links you already have are skipped, so only the new ones are added.
